The new Chayofa roundabout will open in October

The Tenerife Cabildo have confirmed that they are about to complete the construction of the new Chayofa roundabout on the TF-28, which links the TF-1 with Arona, regulating the passage of an average of 19,000 vehicles per day.

The Minister of Roads, Enrique Arriaga, visited it yesterday with the mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, and said that "the Cabildo is working hard to eliminate the black spots on the island's roads, and an example is the construction of this Chayofa roundabout that will be in operation in mid-October, at a cost of 418,000 euros, or the one that will soon be completed in Guargacho which will also contribute to improving circulation in the Arona coastal area”.

The mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, explained that the construction of the roundabout responds "to a historic demand by thousands of people who circulate daily on the general highway, as well as by the residents of the Chayofa area, who say they don’t have easy access to the urbanization.”

"Until now”, he added, “the road was a black spot for those who accessed Chayofa by turning left from the main road so as not to have to go up to La Camella. It will also allow the change of direction in a safer, much simpler way, improving mobility in the area”.
