The first incidents are reported in Tenerife due to high winds from the storm

The first effects and incidents have been recorded overnight from the storm that has been forming over the Atlantic to the northwest of the Canary Islands. Falling branches, trees, and landslides on the roads of Tenerife and La Palma are some of the incidents reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre, but fortunately, there have been no personal injuries as yet.

Early this Monday there was a landslide on the TF-5 motorway in Tenerife, at the exit of the Los Realejos tunnel in the direction of Santa Cruz, which caused the fall of large rocks and stones on the road. Traffic is currently open as it has been cleared, but drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution in the area, and in any area that has loose rocks.

In La Palma and in Tenerife, there have been falling branches and trees on different roads, which have affected the municipalities of La Matanza, La Orotava, Santa Úrsula, Tacoronte, Los Realejos, Breña Baja, in the south of Tenerife, Arona.
