The dead body of a woman in an advanced state of decomposition was found this morning (Sunday), in a park in La Laguna in the north of Tenerife.
The National Police were alerted at around 11.30am this morning, informing them that the grim discovery had been made in Parque de Ofra in the municipality of La Laguna.
According to an official press release, they believe the state of the body indicates that the woman could have been dead for several weeks, but it will need an autopsy to determine her identity and the cause of death.
CECOES, the Emergency Services Coordination Centre, have confirmed that the first to arrive at the scene were agents of the Local Police, while an ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) also attended the incident.
