For the first time in three years, a ‘sea of pink’ will flood the streets of Las Americas as thousands show their support against breast cancer in the Walk For Life. The rate of registrations continues to grow and it is predicted that this will be the biggest one yet surpassing the 5,200 peopl that took part in 2018.
The Foundation's charity walk ‘Carrera por la Vida’, whose proceeds will be used to support patients fighting breast cancer and will fund research projects, starts tomorrow morning (Sunday) at 11:00am from the Siam Mall shopping centre, weaves its way through the streets of Playa de las Americas, before finishing in the ‘Golden Mile’.
If you want to take part, it is not too late. For participants who have not registered yet, the organization recommends going to Siam Mall early tomorrow morning, where for five euros you will receive the official pink Walk For Life t-shirt and a ticket to participate in the raffle at the end of the walk.
There are musical performances and various "surprises" both at the start and at the finish of the walk, and town halls have chartered buses to facilitate the movement of participants. In addition, the Carrera por la Vida Foundation has also provided a bus for the transport of those participants who, for reasons of health or age, cannot complete the 4 kilometre route.
To mark the occasion, and the return to the streets for the walk after the pandemic, the Think Pink Europe network will hold its annual general meeting today in the south of Tenerife, which brings together representatives from 30 countries.
