The Tenerife forest fire is officially declared as fully extinguished

The Tenerife Cabildo have announced that after three months the forest fire, which ignited in the municipality of Arafo on August 15th of this year, has officially been declared as fully extinguished.

The wildfire burned out of control and spread across a perimeter of 90 kilometres, covering nearly 15,000 hectares of the forest crown on the island, spanning 12 municipalities.

In response to this development, the Canary Islands Government, following the guidelines of the Special Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Care for Forest Fires in the Canary Islands (INFOCA), has officially ended the state of emergency in the municipalities of Arafo, Güímar, Candelaria, El Rosario, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Victoria, La Matanza, Santa Úrsula, La Orotava, Los Realejos, and Fasnia.
