The National Police arrest two wanted fugitives in the south of Tenerife

The National Police have arrested two wanted fugitives in the south of Tenerife, a man and a woman from Slovenia aged 47 and 56 respectively, who have European Arrest and Surrender Orders against them from their own country as they are accused of ‘economic crimes’ estimated at 1.5 million euros.

Investigators learned of their presence on the island of Tenerife, and further investigative procedures confirmed they were living in the town of Playa San Juan, in Guía de Isora.

The couple have been living an extremely discreet life in Tenerife to avoid capture, so police had to be careful when organising an operation to detain them as they didn’t want them to slip them and go on the run.

Once arrested, the couple were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, which ordered urgent extradition of the woman and the man's remand in custody, while he awaits his extradition back to Slovenia to face charges.
