Every year, the municipality of Arona, becomes the epicentre of one of the most vibrant celebrations in the south of Tenerife. This year, from March 20th to 31st, the 2025 Los Cristianos Carnival will welcome thousands of people, drawn by the promise of an unforgettable experience that fuses tradition, modernity, and a deep historical bond between the Canary Islands and Venezuela.
The theme of this year’s carnival is "Venezuela, a celebration of rhythm, colour, and joy”, stands as a cultural bridge between two territories that share deep historical ties.
The official poster, the work of Tenerife artist Nareme Melián, was revealed at the Town Hall. With his design, Melián pays homage to the Callao Carnival, declared a World Heritage Site.
In his own words, the composition reflects the union of two homelands, showing the madams dressed in the colours of the flags of Venezuela and the Canary Islands, while the devil, adorned with multi-coloured ribbons, symbolises the historical and cultural integration of both territories.
These artistic elements, along with national birds such as orioles and wild canaries, capture the essence of the artist in his work and invite attendees to enjoy several days of multiculturalism at the Los Cristianos Carnival.
