Tenerife streets will be pink again as The Walk For Life is back for 2022

The Walk for Life Foundation, created in the Canary Islands, is a charitable initiative that works to respond to the needs and demands of individuals and families affected by breast cancer, and to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of the disease. The walk itself, which started in 2005, is back on December 11th for the first time in three years due to the pandemic.

The streets in the south of Tenerife will turn pink again as thousands come together to walk proudly, raising money and bearing signs of support for people affected by breast cancer.

The walk starts on the morning of Sunday 11th December at CC Siam Mall and goes through the streets of Playa Las Americas ending in the ‘Golden Mile’ with a live band and celebration of ‘Pink Day’, and you can take part.

Registration is only 5 euros and you can either take part as an individual or a team and officially join the Walk For Life, already donating as 100% of your fee goes to the charity, so register today here: https://www.raceforthecure.eu/es/Races/Race/Id/43

The Walk for Life Foundation has been named as an award winner in the seventh edition of the Taburiente Awards by the DIARIO DE AVISOS Foundation. These awards recognise people and bodies for their outstanding work socially.

During an emotional gala event the Walk for Life received this award, “as a perfect example of generous and active solidarity, with actions that make a difference“. The president of the Walk for Life foundation, Brigitte Gypen (3rd from the left), dedicated the award to the persons affected by breast cancer and the volunteers “for always being excellent examples of strength and dedication“.

The DIARIO DE AVISOS Foundation collaborates and supports various Walk for Life projects, and this award is another example of the commitment of the team at the DIARIO DE AVISOS group to the fight against breast cancer in the Canary Islands.
