The manager of a controversial eviction company in the south of Tenerife has been arrested for alleged threats and coercion against Guardia Civil officers. According to reports from Atlántico Hoy, the accused is Roberto Cristian Pérez, head of the company Ez Property Solutions, who was detained in Granadilla de Abona.
Another employee of the firm was also arrested in connection with the incident, reportedly for assault, though both men have since been released.
Arrest caught on video
Videos shared on social media show several Guardia Civil officers detaining Pérez, who was accompanied at the time by a lawyer and a recording crew. Neighbours in the area have allegedly been reporting the company for months, denouncing their aggressive methods and threats aimed at removing vulnerable tenants from properties.
In another video on his personal TikTok account, Pérez admitted he had recently been sentenced to nine months in prison for coercion and trespassing, a case he blamed on “poor procedures by the Guardia Civil”.
Hours after his arrest, he published a further video from what appeared to be a previously occupied property, addressing the officer who detained him and insulting him directly.
Company controversy
Ez Property Solutions, founded in 2023, is well known in Tenerife for its highly controversial practices in the eviction sector, earning thousands of euros by carrying out removals of squatters and vulnerable residents.
The company has also had confrontations with tenant rights groups. Last year, members of Ez Property Solutions clashed with the Tenants’ Union of Tenerife. Months later, Pérez posted a video outside the union’s headquarters making derogatory remarks about the premises. Shortly afterwards, the building was destroyed in a fire.
The case has reignited debate in Tenerife about the operations of private eviction firms, the protection of tenants’ rights, and the role of the authorities in regulating such activities.
