Teide National Park has been named one of five finalists for the "Best Natural Destination in Spain" category in the prestigious Readers' Choice Awards 2025 by National Geographic Traveller.
The awards celebrate the world's best destinations, hotels, projects, and airlines, with winners determined through public voting.
Selected from 80 finalists across 16 categories, Teide National Park is competing against four other prominent natural landmarks in Spain:
The national park in the heart of Tenerife stands out with its breathtaking volcanic landscapes and Spain's highest peak at 3,718 metres. It is not only a symbol of Tenerife but also the most visited national park in Europe and one of the ten most visited globally.
Voting is open to the public from now until February 21st. Participants must vote across all categories for their selections to be counted, and the results will be revealed on April 22nd in the May edition of the magazine and on the National Geographic Traveller website.
Teide National Park’s nomination emphasizes its significance as a natural wonder and a major tourist attraction, representing the rich biodiversity and geological heritage of the Canary Islands. Winning this accolade would further solidify its reputation as one of the world's premier destinations.
