Search continues for missing bather in Tenerife
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) have confirmed on Twitter that the search has continued this morning for a bather who has gone missing whilst swimming off the Playa Almaciga beach in Tenerife.
The Italian man was reported missing yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) after going for a swim and not coming back, so CECOES deployed search teams that include Maritime Rescue, the GES helicopter, the National Police, Local Police, and beach lifeguards, to find him as it is known as a dangerous place to swim.
He has now been missing for more than 15 hours, which if he was still in the sea overnight, greatly reduces his chances of surviving, and the search team's chances of finding him.
