Scooter rider in serious condition after crashing into a parked car in Tenerife

A 48-year-old man has been seriously injured in the south of Tenerife after crashing his electric scooter into a parked car. Hours later a second incident involving an electric scooter, left a 32-year-old woman also hospitalised.

The emergency services have reported that the accident in the south happened at 11:50pm on Friday night on Calle Tinguaro in Granadilla de Abona.

When medics arrived at the scene they stabilised him and immediately transferred him to the HUC Hospital in Candelaria where he is admitted in serious condition and is being treated for several injuries, including a head injury, although there is no report of whether he was wearing a helmet or not.

A few hours later, at 5:45am yesterday morning (Saturday), there was a second accident involving a scooter in Tenerife in the space of six hours.

This one took place on Avenida de la Constitución in Santa Cruz, where a 32-year-old woman fell off her scooter going around a corner, causing severe cuts and bruises, and facial injuries.

She was taken to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital by ambulance for further treatment, and there was another person involved in the accident, but it doesn’t explain how who did not require medical assistance.
