The Santa Cruz City Council has cancelled all of this afternoon’s scheduled Carnival group performances for Monday, 3rd March, due to bad weather and the pre-alert for rain issued by the Canary Islands Government.
However, despite the afternoon cancellations, this evening’s events are still set to go ahead as planned, with authorities closely monitoring the development of the storm.
From 9:00pm, the Carnival will continue with the Dragnaval show with performances by Joseph Fonseca and the rest of the scheduled artists, as the weather is expected to improve slightly.
The decision aims to ensure public safety while maintaining the spirit of the annual "Carnaval chicharrero," which this year features a theme inspired by television design.
Organisers remain optimistic about the evening events, but caution will be exercised, with contingency plans ready should the weather worsen.
The Council encourages attendees to stay informed through official channels for any further updates regarding the Carnival schedule.
