Servitaxi Tenesur SL

Cloudy intervals, some light rain, and steady northerly winds will shape the weather across the Canary Islands today, Sunday, according to the latest forecasts from AEMET.

Rain will mainly affect northern areas during the early hours of the day and later in the evening. In Tenerife and Gran Canaria, some inland areas could also see showers around midday and into the afternoon.

Rain is less likely in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, where conditions are expected to remain largely dry. Temperatures will remain fairly stable across the region, with little change expected. Winds will be moderate from the north, with a north-easterly influence more noticeable in the western islands.

At sea, north-easterly winds of force 3 to 4 are forecast, increasing to force 4 to 5 in the south-east and west. Slight to moderate seas are expected, with a north or north-westerly swell of between one and two metres in northern and eastern waters.

Island-by-Island Forecast for Sunday 26th April 2026:

Tenerife
Much of the island will see variable cloud cover, tending towards overcast conditions at times—particularly in the north. Light rain is likely in these northern areas during the early morning and again late in the day.

In the south-west midlands, there is also a chance of brief showers during the afternoon, although coastal resort areas are likely to stay largely dry with some sunny intervals.

Higher up, around the Teide, skies will remain mostly clear, offering very different conditions compared to the cloudier coastal zones.

Temperatures will remain unchanged, with warm daytime highs. Winds will be moderate from the north-east, becoming occasionally strong in eastern and far north-western areas later in the day.
General temperatures: Low of 19°C and high of 25°C.

Gran Canaria
The north of the island will remain mostly cloudy throughout much of the day, with the greatest chance of light, occasional rain during the early morning and again later in the evening.

In contrast, the south will experience a mix of cloud and clearer spells. Inland areas—especially the midlands—could see some brief showers around midday and into the afternoon.

Temperatures will hold steady across the island, though cloudier northern areas may feel slightly cooler.

Winds will be moderate from the north, occasionally strengthening in the south-east and north-west. In the south-west, lighter breezes and more sheltered conditions are expected.
General temperatures: Low of 19°C and high of 23°C.

Lanzarote
Northern and western parts of the island will start the day under mostly cloudy skies, with a blanket of low cloud likely lingering through the morning. Elsewhere, brighter intervals will develop, especially towards the south and east.

There is only a slight chance of light, patchy rain, mainly in the north during the early hours. These showers, if they occur, will be brief and weak.

Temperatures will remain stable, with a mild feel throughout the day. Moderate northerly winds may make it feel slightly cooler along exposed coasts, particularly in open areas and higher ground.
General temperatures: Low of 17°C and high of 24°C.

Fuerteventura
Cloud cover will be more widespread during the morning, especially across central and northern areas. As the day progresses, clearer skies are expected to develop in the eastern half of the island, bringing more sunshine by mid to late afternoon.

There is a low probability of light rain in the north, but most areas will remain dry.

Temperatures will see little variation, staying comfortable for outdoor activities. Moderate winds from the north will persist, occasionally gusty in exposed areas, particularly along the western coastline.
General temperatures: Low of 17°C and high of 23°C.
