Cloudy skies, a slight chance of light rain, and largely unchanged temperatures are forecast across the Canary Islands today Saturday, according to the latest reports from AEMET.
Most areas will see generally cloudy conditions, particularly in the north and east of the mountainous islands (Tenerife and Gran Canaria), while rainfall is expected to be limited, there is a low probability of light, occasional showers, more likely across the central islands.
Temperatures will remain mostly stable, although minimum temperatures are set to rise slightly in the eastern islands (Lanzarote and Fuerteventura), and winds will be light to moderate from the northwest.
Overall, it will be a typically mixed but mild spring Saturday across the Canary Islands, cloudier in the north, brighter in the south, and comfortable temperatures throughout.
Here’s a more detailed island-by-island breakdown for residents and visitors planning their weekend:
Tenerife
Tenerife will see cloudy conditions in the north and east, with occasional light showers possible. Rain is most likely early in the day along northern coastal areas and could persist into the afternoon in eastern mid-altitude zones.
The south and southwest of the island are expected to remain largely dry, with a mix of sun and cloud — typical of the island’s contrasting microclimates.
Temperatures will change very little overall. Northwest winds will be light to moderate at lower levels, but stronger westerly winds are forecast in higher areas. Very strong gusts cannot be ruled out around Mount Teide and exposed peaks.
General temperature range: Low of 18°C to high of 25°C.
Gran Canaria
In Gran Canaria, the north and east of the island will see predominantly cloudy skies. There is a higher likelihood of occasional light showers here, particularly in low-lying northern areas during the early morning hours.
Inland and southern parts of the island will experience more variable cloud, with brighter spells likely at times, especially towards the south and southwest.
Temperatures will remain broadly unchanged, although maximums could dip slightly in the cloudier northern and eastern areas. Winds will be light from the west, with sea breezes becoming more noticeable from midday onwards.
General temperature range: Low of 18°C to high of 23°C.
Lanzarote
In Lanzarote, the day will begin with cloudy intervals during the early hours, with a small chance of light, brief showers. Any rain is expected to be patchy and short-lived.
As the morning progresses, skies will gradually clear, leading to a mostly fine and settled afternoon across the island, including popular coastal areas and resorts.
Maximum temperatures will remain steady, while overnight and early morning temperatures will rise slightly compared to previous days. Winds will be light to moderate from the west, making for generally pleasant conditions.
General temperature range: Low of 16°C to high of 26°C.
Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura will follow a similar pattern. Expect early cloud cover with a low risk of light rain before conditions improve steadily through the day.
By late morning and into the afternoon, most areas — including the main tourist zones — should see brighter skies with only occasional cloud patches.
Maximum temperatures will see little change, while minimums will climb slightly. Westerly winds will remain light to moderate, keeping conditions comfortable.
General temperature range: Low of 17°C to high of 24°C.
