SATURDAY WEATHER: Clearer but with strong winds and gusts over 90km/h
The weather is expected to remain mostly cloudy across the Canary Islands today, Saturday, with little change in temperatures but some strong winds, with gusts exceeding 90km/h, in of the archipelago according to the latest forecasts from AEMET.
Winds will blow from the north or north-west, ranging from moderate to strong, with very strong gusts in exposed areas, particularly in higher ground.
At sea, conditions are also expected to deteriorate, with northerly winds force 4 to 6, rough to very rough seas, and a north-westerly swell of between two and three metres. Occasional showers are also possible.
Island-by-island forecast for Saturday 11th April 2026:
Tenerife
Cloudy in the north with a chance of light rain during the early part of the day. Cleare in the resorts based in the south and elsewhere, variable cloud. Temperatures rising slightly, especially in central high areas. Northerly winds, moderate to strong, with very strong gusts expected in southern parts of the metropolitan area and in higher ground. Gusts may exceed 90km/h in central peaks overnight.
General temperature range: Low of 15°C and high of 22°C.
Gran Canaria
Cloudier conditions in the north, with a chance of light rain during the morning. Brighter elsewhere with some cloud developing later. Slight rise in overnight temperatures, with little change during the day. Northerly winds, moderate to strong, with very strong gusts likely in high areas and on eastern and western slopes.
General temperature range: Low of 15°C and high of 20°C.
Lanzarote
Cloudy skies with a chance of light, occasional rain during the early hours. Temperatures slightly higher overnight, with little change during the day. North-westerly winds, occasionally strong inland with a risk of very strong gusts. Winds easing and turning northerly later in the day.
General temperature range: Low of 16°C and high of 22°C.
Fuerteventura
Mostly cloudy with a chance of light, occasional showers. Slight rise in minimum temperatures, with daytime highs largely unchanged. North-westerly winds, strong at times inland with possible very strong gusts. Winds easing and turning northerly later.
General temperature range: Low of 17°C and high of 22°C.
