A Ryanair flight travelling from Fuerteventura to Bristol had to make an unexpected diversion yesterday afternoon due to a problem with one of the aircraft’s toilets.
According to the official Air Traffic Controllers account on X (formerly Twitter), the plane was forced to land at Lanzarote Airport shortly after take-off, following a report from the crew about a technical issue.
The incident was communicated by the flight crew, who were unable to resolve the problem in the air and decided to return for safety and maintenance reasons.
Once the issue was fixed on the ground, the aircraft resumed its journey to the UK without further complications, and the flight continued normally to Bristol.
Although minor, the diversion caused a brief delay for passengers, but operations at both Lanzarote and Fuerteventura airports continued as normal.
Air traffic authorities praised the crew’s professionalism and swift response, ensuring passenger safety and comfort at all times.
