Roadworks on the TF-1 mean diversions at the south airport until Thursday

The roadworks on the TF-1 in the south start again tonight (Sunday), with resurfacing in both directions of junctions 55 (San Isidro/El Médano), 57 (Los Cardones), and 59 (Tenerife South Airport), with diversions in place until Thursday.

The Cabildo reminds that "to guarantee the safety of drivers and minimize inconvenience, the relevant diversions will be in place and the works will be carried out overnight from 10:00pm to 6:00am".

The works have all been carried out overnight over the last 14 months, successfully preventing traffic problems, however, if you live in an area that uses these junctions, or have a late flight over the next few days, make sure you allow time for diversions or alternative routes to get to your destination.

During the early hours of tonight (Sunday), Monday and Tuesday, resurfacing work will be carried out on the slip roads on all three junctions, in a south direction towards Adeje, and then on Wednesday and Thursday in the north direction of junctions 57 and 59, as 55 is already done.

Diversions:
- From Sunday to Tuesday, vehicles going south in the direction of Adeje and wishing to access San Isidro or El Médano, must continue to junction 59, make a U-turn and return to Santa Cruz until exiting at junction 57.

- In addition, those who wish to join the TF-1 highway from San Isidro or Granadilla should do so via junction 57, the Los Cardones access.

- Vehicles that want to drive south from El Médano should head towards Santa Cruz to the Polígono de Granadilla Acceso B junction (52), and come off to change direction. In the case of making the journey the other way around, they must do so via junction 57.

- Also on Monday and Tuesday, vehicles heading towards Los Cristianos and wanting to access the South Airport, must continue to the San Miguel, Los Abrigos and Las Galletas junction, make a U-turn and return towards Santa Cruz until the airport junction, number 59.

- Drivers who wish to head south towards Adeje from the Airport, must go north towards Santa Cruz and make a U-turn to rejoin the road at junction 57.

- On Wednesday and Thursday nights, vehicles going in the direction of Adeje and wishing to access Los Cardones, must do so via the San Isidro junction (55).

- Those who wish to join the TF-1 motorway from this area, both in the direction of Adeje and in the direction of Santa Cruz must do it through the same junction, and drivers who wish to access San Isidro or Granadilla through the Los Cardones access must do so through junction 55.

These works are part of the TF-1 rehabilitation plan that has been carried out since April 2021. When complete, the works will have covered nearly 40 kilometres of the motorway between Adeje and Arico.
