Police are looking for two hooded burglars in the south of Tenerife

The National Police are looking for two hooded men who committed several robberies in the early hours of Sunday morning in different commercial premises in the municipalities of Adeje and Arona in the south of Tenerife.

They have been targeting shops, bars, and restaurants in tourist areas of Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos, and Parque Santiago, angering business owners who reported an increase in crime in these areas over a month ago, with some armed robberies taking place during the day and at knifepoint.

Yesterday morning (Sunday) at 3:50am a well-known bar in Costa Adeje was broken into and robbed by the two hooded men, who were caught on CCTV (pictured above).

According to the bar owner, they broke three locks to get inside the premises, grabbed 490 euros from the till, and broke into two slot machines to take the money boxes from them, leaving the 5,800 euro machines broken and not working, and only getting away with a few hundred euros in coins.

According to the National Police, there were other robberies yesterday that they believe were carried out by the same two men, who used masks to cover their faces and gloves to avoid leaving traces, but their forensics team is working at different locations to find any clues.

They are requesting citizen collaboration, and asking anyone who may know or recognise the two men, to contact them as soon as possible in English on 902 102 112 between 9am and 9pm from Monday to Friday.
