According to an official Guardia Civil press release, officers found a 3-year-old girl wandering alone through the streets of El Fraile in Arona, whilst on a routine patrol of the town in the south of Tenerife on Wednesday afternoon.
After spotting her, agents reacted quickly to prevent the small girl from getting run over by cars on a busy road, as she was heading towards it to cross the street.
Once she was safe, they tried talking to the girl to find out where she lived, but being so young couldn’t get an address from her, but they managed to locate her parent's thanks to the help of some neighbours.
When they found her parents they were surprised and shocked as they hadn’t realised their daughter wasn’t at home. Fortunately, a happy ending thanks to the actions of the officers.
