The Local Police have arrested a 52-year-old man in Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura) after he bit an officer on the arm while resisting arrest.

The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon during a routine check on a workshop in the El Charco neighbourhood, which had been ordered to stop operating under a precautionary closure notice.

Officers found the workshop still open, with two people working inside, despite having been officially closed and sealed by the town hall.

When officers attempted to identify the person responsible, he became aggressive and tried to attack them. They moved to restrain him, but he resisted and bit one of them on the arm, causing injuries.

He was detained at the scene and has now been brought before a judge. Police reinstated the closure seal on the premises and have opened legal proceedings for breaching the order.
