Passenger found dead in plane toilet on flight from the Canary Islands to Manchester

A sombre incident has been reported onboard a Jet2 flight departing from Tenerife as a male passenger died in one of the aircraft's toilets. The plane, en route to Manchester, had to make an unscheduled stop in Cork following the unfortunate incident.

According to reports, the distressing episode happened on January 2nd, when the flight crew departing from Tenerife noticed that a passenger who had entered one of the toilets was spending a longer time than usual inside.

After repeated attempts to get a response from him by knocking on the door didn't work, the crew opened the door only to discover the man slumped on the toilet showing no signs of life.

In a statement, Jet2 said that they tried every possible means to save the man’s life, but regrettably, their attempts were unsuccessful. The airline also extended condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the deceased.

The flight, number LS918, originally due in Manchester at 8:30pm, landed five hours late at 1:30am after diverting to Cork.
