Oli: The new digital assistant helping passengers at Canary Islands airports

Travelling in and out of the Canary Islands just got a whole lot easier, thanks to Oli, the new digital assistant now available at all airports across the archipelago. Launched by AENA, Oli is a cutting-edge chatbot designed to help passengers at airports, access real-time flight information, and much more - all in eight different languages.

Oli is more than just a chatbot; it’s a multilingual avatar accessible through multiple platforms, including WhatsApp via a QR code, the AENA website and mobile app, and even Facebook.

Whether you need to check your flight status, boarding gate, airport services, or navigating through the terminal, Oli is there to assist you every step of the way. The chatbot can even direct users to the AENA digital map for easy navigation.

First introduced at Madrid airport in December 2022, Oli quickly became a hit with passengers. By April 2024, Oli had interacted with around 940,000 users, proving its effectiveness and popularity. The success of this digital assistant has led to its expansion to other major airports, including Barcelona, and now the Canary Islands.

AENA's aims are to improve passenger experience at airports

AENA’s introduction of Oli is part of its broader strategy to incorporate technology to enhance customer service and operational efficiency. This initiative is just one component of a larger vision, that includes 3 strategic programs, 24 areas, and 84 projects, all aimed at improving passenger experience and promoting sustainable mobility.

With Oli now in the Canary Islands, travelling through the airports has never been smoother or more convenient. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Oli is set to become your go-to assistant for all your airport needs.
