No happy ending for thief who tried to burgle a massage parlour in El Medano

The Local Police have arrested a 46-year-old man in El Medano after he tried to rob a massage parlour in the centre of the town in Granadilla de Abona, in the south of Tenerife, who also assaulted an employee who tried to stop him.

According to an official press release, the man entered the massage parlour and tried to steal money from the till, but was surprised by the receptionist who, when trying to stop him, was attacked and needed medical assistance due to the seriousness of her injuries.

Staff from the parlour called the police and two officers arrived quickly as they were patrolling the local area, and arrested the man for the attempted robbery and attack on the receptionist, however, when being officially identified, they realised that he had given them false papers belonging to someone else.

After detaining him and finally finding out his true identity, he was also charged with identity theft adding to his woe. He is now in the custody of the judicial authorities awaiting sentencing.
