Naked body of young man found on a beach in Gran Canaria
The National Police have launched an investigation after the body of a young man was found early this morning (Tuesday) on Bocabarranco Beach, located on the Jinámar coastline in the municipality of Telde, Gran Canaria.
The discovery was made at around 8:30am when a passerby walking along the beach alerted the authorities after noticing bloodstains and seeing the man’s lifeless body lying on the sand. The victim, believed to be between 30 and 35 years old, was reportedly found naked.
Police officers quickly arrived at the beach and secured the area while specialist homicide and forensic teams began collecting evidence. At this stage, investigators have not confirmed whether there are clear signs of violence, and the cause of death remains unknown.
Efforts are currently focused on identifying the victim and establishing the circumstances that led to his death. Officers from the Homicide Unit and the Scientific Police are working on forensic examinations and gathering material that could clarify what happened.
The discovery comes in a year that has already seen several high-profile incidents in Telde. However, authorities have urged caution and stressed that it is too early to draw conclusions until the autopsy and full investigation are completed.
