Helicopters from the Government of the Canary Islands have joined the fight against the forest fire that is raging in the Arafo mountains in Tenerife, which is already affecting the upper area of Candelaria.
Access roads to the mountains are being closed and aerial teams have been brought in as the fire is difficult to access by land is spreading quickly with the help of the wind and the dry vegetation.
The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Davila said this morning, that it is too early to tell if it was started intentionally, and that it has “a large destructive capacity”.
