Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash near Los Cristianos

A 29-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured this morning (Wednesday ) after falling from his bike on the TF-1 motorway near the Los Cristianos exit in Arona, south Tenerife.
Emergency services were called after the incident was reported to the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (112), which activated the necessary resources to assist the injured rider.
Paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service assessed the man at the roadside and provided initial treatment. He was reported to have suffered multiple serious injuries as a result of the crash.
After receiving emergency care, the rider was taken by ambulance to Hospital del Sur in Arona. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in Santa Cruz for specialist treatment.
A medicalised ambulance and a basic life support ambulance were sent to the incident. Officers from the Guardia Civil and road maintenance teams also attended.
The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the accident. Meanwhile, road crews carried out traffic management and cleared the carriageway to ensure the motorway could reopen safely.
