A motorcyclist is in serious condition in hospital after hitting a wall when joining the TF-1 southbound motorway on Sunday evening, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES), at the junction by Las Eras on the east coast of Tenerife.
They received several calls at around 7pm informing of the accident and immediately dispatched the Guardia Civil, SUC ambulances, and Highway Maintenance to the scene, who also requested a medical helicopter to assist the injured rider.
The helicopter was able to land next to the TF-1 while paramedics treated and stabilized the 54-year-old man who had sustained a severe head injury and many other serious injuries in the crash.
After being treated, he was transferred by helicopter from the motorway to the University Hospital of the Canary Islands where he was admitted to A&E in serious condition.
Following the accident, the Guardia Civil regulated traffic in the area and carried out the corresponding report, which says that no other vehicles were involved in the accident, and Highway Maintenance Personnel cleared the road.
There is currently no update on the man’s condition, nor has his identity been revealed.
