Motorcyclist dies after collision with bus on TF-1 motorway in south Tenerife
A 34-year-old woman has died following an accident between her motorcycle and a bus on the TF-1 motorway near Granadilla de Abona in the south of Tenerife, yesterday afternoon (Boxing Day), according to the Canary Islands Emergency Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The incident occurred at around 6:00pm near the Granadilla industrial estate. The impact left the motorcyclist trapped, and firefighters from the Tenerife Fire Consortium were required to free her from the wreckage.
Medical staff from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) assessed the victim and confirmed that she had sustained injuries “incompatible with life”, and were unable to save her life and could only certify her death at the scene of the accident.
The Guardia Civil directed the traffic, as the accident caused significant delays for southbound drivers, and have opened an official investigation into the cause of the accident.
