A man who was reported missing last Saturday (4th February) by his family has been found alive with symptoms of hypothermia and dehydration close to the Hermano Pedro cave in the municipality of Granadilla in the south of Tenerife, according to a Guardia Civil press release issued today.
The man, who has not been named, was reported missing at the police station in Playa de las Américas, and on Wednesday his car was found abandoned near El Medano, which led to the police concentrating their search in and around that area.
Yesterday morning, the Guardia Civil reported that they had found the missing man located under the ledge of a rocky wall, near the Hermano Pedro cave which is close to the end of the runway at Tenerife South airport, with symptoms of hypothermia and dehydration, for which he received medical attention.
Agents from various Guardia Civil units participated in the search, including the Canine division and Local Police Drone Unit from Arona. The man has been transferred to hospital for further treatment before being reunited with his family and facing questions from the police about his disappearance.
