A 74-year-old man who was reported missing after taking his dog for a walk has been found safe following a coordinated search and rescue operation in Granadilla de Abona in the south of Tenerife.
The search was launched on Saturday by the Local Police and the municipality’s Civil Protection team after the man's wife reported that he had failed to return home after going out with his dog the previous evening.
According to the information provided by local authorities, the man had been walking in the area around Montaña Acojeja when he disappeared.
Dog Helped Lead Searchers
Emergency teams initially focused their efforts on the Los Parques area after locating the man's dog. The discovery provided a crucial starting point for the search operation, allowing responders to narrow down the area where the missing man may have been.
Rescue personnel then expanded their search across the surrounding terrain before eventually locating the 74-year-old in the embankment of a small ravine.

Successful Rescue Operation
Once found, emergency crews carried out a rescue operation to safely extract the man from the difficult terrain and transport him to a waiting ambulance.
Authorities confirmed that the incident ended positively, with the man successfully rescued and receiving the assistance he required. Following the operation, Granadilla de Abona Town Hall publicly thanked all of the emergency personnel involved.
Municipal officials highlighted the speed, professionalism and coordination shown by the various teams, whose combined efforts were instrumental in locating the missing resident and bringing the incident to a safe conclusion.
