Married couple arrested in Gran Canaria for fraud, corruption, and document forgery

A couple, aged 44 and 54, have been arrested in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, under a European Extradition Order (OEDE) issued by Polish authorities.

The pair are wanted for multiple offences, including fraud, corruption, document forgery, trafficking of false documents, and involvement in a criminal organisation.

The arrest followed an investigation initiated on 11th February, after the National Police received intelligence from the Fugitives Unit of the General Commissariat of Judicial Police.

Officers quickly launched an operation and, within 24 hours, managed to track down the fugitives in Marzagán, where they have been living on the island.

Once identified, the couple were taken into custody and later handed over to the relevant judicial authority. Legal proceedings have been initiated for their extradition to Poland, where they will face charges for their alleged crimes.
