A 50-year-old man has been injured in an accident on the TF-652 in San Miguel de Abona in the south of Tenerife, after two vehicles collided and one was forced off the road and rolled down a slope into a ravine.
Fortunately the driver was able to get out of the car when it came to a stop, even though he had various moderate injuries.
According to the Emergency Services report, the cars avoided hitting each other head-on as they came around a corner, but the speed of one of them and turning the wheel to avoid a more serious collision, forced him off the road.
Firemen were the first at the scene and attended to the injured man and made sure that the car was safe, before SUC paramedics arrived and took over.
After attending to some contusions he was transferred by ambulance to the Quirón Costa Adeje Hospital in San Eugenio. They have also confirmed that no-one in the other car was hurt in the incident.
The Guardia Civil have opened an investigation into the cause of the accident.
