A 35-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a car on the TF-1 motorway, near Granadilla in the south of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).
The emergency services received a call at approximately 5:25am, alerting them to the accident, which occurred on the northbound carriageway. CECOES immediately mobilised the necessary response teams, including medical personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC).
Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics assessed the injured man and found that he had sustained multiple serious injuries. After stabilising him, they transported him to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, where he remains in a serious condition.
Authorities have not yet provided further details on the circumstances surrounding the incident or whether the driver involved remained at the scene. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
