A man was arrested by the National Police In the early hours of this morning (Sunday), for allegedly stabbing another man outside a nightclub in a commercial centre in the south of Gran Canaria, leaving the victim with serious injuries.
According to the emergency services report, the attack took place around 1:00am in Meloneras, a town close to Maspalomas. The victim, a 30-year-old man, sustained several cuts and stab wounds from a bladed weapon and required urgent medical assistance.
Once medical personnel had treated him and managed to stabilise him, the injured man was taken by ambulance to the Doctor Negrín Hospital in Las Palmas for further treatment where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
The suspected assailant was quickly identified and apprehended by officers from the National Police, and after conducting a search of the area, authorities also recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the attack.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
