It was a night of luck and celebration in Gran Canaria on Thursday, 31st July, as both the Bonoloto and the National Lottery awarded major cash prizes to ticket holders on the island, continuing what has been a streak of good fortune throughout the summer.
The biggest win came from the Bonoloto draw, where a First Category prize, awarded for matching all six main numbers, landed in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The winning ticket, purchased at a lottery outlet in the Hoya de La Plata area, earned the lucky player a total of €1,277,393.33.
Meanwhile, the National Lottery draw also delivered big prizes across the capital. A first prize of €300,000 per ticket went to number 81188, sold at a lottery office on Calle Mariucha in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. A second prize, worth €60,000 per ticket, was won with the number 98756, sold at the “El Caballo de Oro” lottery shop in the El Tablero shopping centre.
How the Bonoloto Works
The Bonoloto is held daily and offers players a low-cost chance to win substantial prizes. Each ticket consists of eight panels with numbers ranging from 1 to 49. During each draw, six main numbers and one complementary number are drawn from the main drum, along with a separate reintegro number.
The reintegro number is a type of refund number included on many tickets. If the reintegro number on your ticket matches the one drawn, you win back the cost of your ticket, even if you didn’t match any of the main numbers.
It’s a small but popular feature that gives players a second chance to walk away with something, helping to soften the blow of an otherwise unlucky draw.
Each bet costs €0.50, with a minimum ticket value of €1.00. That means a ticket must contain at least two bets if entering a single draw, or one bet if entered across two or more draws.
Prize Categories
Fifty-five percent of Bonoloto ticket sales go toward prizes, distributed across six prize categories, from matching three numbers, all the way up to six, plus the reintegro prize, which refunds the cost of a ticket if the reintegro number matches.
With major wins now lighting up local outlets, Gran Canaria appears to be enjoying a summer of luck, and for many hopeful players, the next draw could bring even more good news.
