La Pinta beach in Costa Adeje has reopened to the public after follow-up water tests confirmed that the sea is once again safe for swimming.
Adeje Town Hall lifted the temporary bathing ban today after analysis showed that microbiological levels in the water had returned to acceptable limits following the latest contamination alert.
The popular beach next to Puerto Colón had been closed earlier this week after routine testing detected elevated levels of enterococci bacteria, prompting health concerns and raising red flags along the shoreline.
Local authorities had warned that exposure to contaminated water could potentially cause skin, eye, respiratory and stomach-related infections, leading officials to temporarily ban swimming as a precaution.
The reopening will come as welcome news for both tourists and residents in Costa Adeje, particularly with La Pinta being one of the busiest beaches in south Tenerife and a popular spot for families and visitors heading to boat excursions from Puerto Colón.
Beachgoers are still being advised to follow any instructions from lifeguards and local authorities, while routine water quality monitoring at the beach continues.
