Hollywood heartthrob Jude Law is currently in Gran Canaria, where he is filming scenes for the upcoming movie Nocturne. The islands continue to attract major international film and TV projects, and Jude Law is the latest high-profile name to choose the Canaries as a backdrop.
The star, known for roles in The Talented Mr Ripley, Sherlock Holmes, The Holiday and acclaimed TV drama The Young Pope, has been spotted by guests at the iconic Santa Catalina, a Royal Hideaway Hotel in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where he has been staying during the shoot.
The hotel previously welcomed Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard when they filmed Allied on the island.
Local company Sur Films is supporting the production on the ground, as Gran Canaria hosts several shoots simultaneously thanks to its thriving film industry.

Born in 1972, Law is widely regarded as a leading figure in the modern generation of British actors. According to production sources, he is expected to leave the island soon after completing his scenes, although much of the crew will continue working locally.
Canary Islands filming has boomed in recent years, supported by attractive tax incentives, diverse landscapes and stable weather, as well as the development of professional studios and highly skilled local talent.
