Jet2.com and its associated tour operator, Jet2holidays, have announced a significant increase of their winter flight capacity to the Canary Islands, adding 25,000 additional seats from the UK for February and March 2025.
The new seats will be available from five of Jet2’s UK bases: Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Manchester, and Newcastle, flying to Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Lanzarote.
The increase in capacity also includes the introduction of winter flights from Jet2's new base at Bournemouth Airport, which was recently inaugurated.
Jet2 said that this expansion marks the most ambitious winter season ever for the company in the Canary Islands, with a total of 2.25 million seats offered in both directions and up to 225 weekly flights during peak winter periods.
In a press release, the company's CEO, Steve Heapy, emphasised the strong appeal of the Canary Islands to their customers. "We are the leading British tour operator here and are well aware of what these islands represent to our travellers. We are thrilled that the upcoming winter will be our most ambitious ever in the Canary Islands," he said.
With this substantial increase in flights, Jet2 is poised to enhance its leading position in the Canary Islands market, offering more options and flexibility to UK travellers seeking winter sun.
