The Municipal Operations Coordination Centre (CECOPAL) have reported that two beaches in Tenerife have been under red and yellow flags today (Saturday) due to the “significant presence” of jellyfish.
The two beaches had different coloured flags due to the potential danger they posed to bathers, meaning that Las Gaviotas beach had a red flag, because more jellyfish were detected, and Las Terrasitas, had a yellow one.
CECOPAL have warned anyone that chooses to go into the water to be careful to do so with extreme caution, particularly as these two beaches are the busiest in Santa Cruz.
