The authorities are investigating a fire that broke out in the early hours of yesterday morning (Monday) at a Korean restaurant in the Alegría Commercial Centre in Las Chafiras, in the south of Tenerife.
The blaze, which was reported around 6:00am, quickly spread to several other businesses within the complex.
Firefighters, along with officers from the San Miguel Local Police, the Guardia Civil, and Civil Protection, were deployed to extinguish the flames and secure the area.
At this stage, the cause of the fire remains undetermined, and the authorities are urging caution regarding speculation. San Miguel de Abona’s Local Police stated that "any premature information could interfere with the investigation. At this moment, we cannot provide further details."
Despite the lack of an official statement on the origin of the fire, witnesses suggest that the incident may have started inside the kitchen of one of the establishments.
Authorities have yet to confirm any hypothesis and have requested patience while they continue to gather information.
