Injured climber rescued from rocks after rope snapped in the south of Tenerife

A 32-year-old Polish man was injured on Tuesday (18th February) after falling while climbing in an area between Los Abrigos and La Tejita, within the municipality of Granadilla de Abona in the south of Tenerife.
According to the Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES), the accident took place at 6:30pm, when a rope he was using snapped, causing him to drop onto the rocks below.
Emergency services, the fire brigade, an SUC, the Local Police, and the Guardia Civil, were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters located and rescued the injured climber, who was treated by medical personnel before being transported to the University Hospital Hospiten Sur with multiple injuries.
The Guardia Civil have launched an investigation into the incident and assisted in the emergency response efforts.
