House fire in Tenerife leaves two people in critical condition

A house fire in the municipality of El Rosario, Tenerife, has left four people injured, two of them critically, according to information from the Canary Islands Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES).

The incident took place on Saturday night at approximately 9:10pm on Calle Vista Castillo. Emergency services were alerted to a blaze in a residential property, with reports indicating several people were affected. In response, CECOES immediately deployed the necessary emergency response teams to the scene.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames and ventilated the property to clear it of smoke, while SUC medical personnel treated four people, two men and two women, who were suffering from smoke inhalation, burns, and other injuries.

Two of the victims were reported to be in critical condition and were rushed to the HUC Hospital and the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria for urgent treatment.

Local Police assisted at the scene, while the Guardia Civil have opened an investigation and are handling the corresponding legal proceedings.
