A 62-year-old Guardia Civil officer died after suffering a heart attack while on duty at the port of Granadilla de Abona during the disembarkation operation of the cruise ship MV Hondius yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
The officer collapsed while assisting with the repatration operation at the port in the south of Tenerife. Emergency medical teams already present at the dock immediately began resuscitation efforts and worked on him for approximately 40 minutes. Unfortunately, they were unable to save his life.
According to the Asociación Profesional Justicia Guardia Civil (JUCIL), which confirmed the news via social media platform X, the officer was assigned to the headquarters staff of the Tenerife Command.
