A routine checkpoint at the port of Agaete, in Gran Canaria, led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man after officers discovered over 150 grams of drugs and a stash of anabolic substances in his possession.
The arrest took place on Saturday (15th February), when Guardia Civil officers stopped a suspicious vehicle for inspection. Upon searching the suspect, they found two hidden packets of powder among his clothing, one pinkish substance later identified as amphetamine and another whitish powder, which the suspect admitted was cocaine.
Further inspection of the suspect’s bag and bumbag revealed more packets of cocaine and several anabolic drugs. After this, more packages were found inside the car.
Along with the 103.5 grams of cocaine and 51.5 grams of amphetamines, the suspect was also carrying €625 in cash and three mobile phones, raising further suspicions about potential drug dealing activities.
The man was arrested on the spot and later brought before the Santa María de Guía Court, where the confiscated drugs and case files were presented as evidence.
