Five people were injured on Sunday night following a collision between two cars on the TF-47 road near Callao Salvaje, in the south of Tenerife. The accident was reported at 9:03pm, according to the Canary Islands Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES).

One of the vehicles overturned onto its side as a result of the crash, leading to a significant emergency response.

Paramedics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) treated the occupants of both cars at the scene. Among the injured were:

  • A 27-year-old woman with a head injury.
  • A 25-year-old woman with a chest injury.
  • Another 25-year-old woman with multiple contusions.
  • A 27-year-old man with an arm injury.
  • Another man with severe bruising to his limbs.

All five, who are believed to be holidaymakers, were taken by ambulance to Quirón Salud Costa Adeje Hospital and Hospiten Sur Hospital.

The emergency operation involved a medicalised ambulance and two basic life-support ambulances from the SUC, along with Tenerife Fire Brigade, who secured the vehicles after the collision. The Guardia Civil managed traffic and began the corresponding investigation into the cause of the accident, while the Road Maintenance Service cleared debris from the carriageway.

The incident caused delays and traffic disruption in the area while emergency teams worked at the scene.
