In a disturbing incident last night, five vehicles were set on fire by arsonists on the quiet street of Calle Berna in Los Cristianos, in the south of Tenerife, at around 2:30 in the morning according to the 112 Canarias incident report.
Local emergency services, including the Arona Local Police, Tenerife Firefighters, and the National Police, responded swiftly to an alert, and have launched an investigation into the incident.
According to police sources, surveillance cameras in the area captured the moment when an individual doused the cars with what appeared to be petrol, shortly before another person on a motorbike wearing a hoodie rode by and set fire to the cars before riding off.
While the police have not ruled out any possible motives, they suspect that this was likely to be a random act of vandalism, as the damaged cars do not appear to be connected in any way.
