Fire brigade rescue trapped driver after accident on the TF-1 near Adeje

A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital in the early hours this morning (Saturday) after his car left the road on the TF-1 motorway near Adeje, in the south of Tenerife.

The accident happened at around 3:00am on the southbound carriageway, prompting a response from emergency services after the Canary Islands Emergency Coordination Centre (CECOES) received reports that a man was trapped inside his car after an accident.

Firefighters worked alongside SUC paramedics to free the driver from inside the vehicle, so that medical staff could begin treatment at the scene.

The young man had suffered multiple moderate injuries, according to the initial medical assessment, and was transported by ambulance to Hospiten Sur hospital for further treatment.

Officers from the Guardia Civil also attended the incident and have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.

No further details have been released at this stage regarding what caused the vehicle to leave the road or the current condition of the injured driver.
