Fans divided over CD Tenerife’s new third kit design

CD Tenerife have unveiled their third kit for the upcoming football season, once again incorporating pink as a symbol of the club’s ongoing commitment to the fight against cancer.

Tenerife remain pioneers in Spanish football for integrating this initiative into their official kits.

This latest kit, combining a new shade of pink with blue accents, continues a tradition that began in 2012 when the club first joined the cause to raise awareness and support those affected by cancer. For the launch, the club selected two of its homegrown players, Alassan and Fran Sabina, to model the new shirt.

Their involvement is seen as a show of faith from the coaching staff, reflecting the belief that both players will play key roles this season and beyond.

In previous years, Tenerife’s pink kits have been paired with black or blue, but this year’s edition sees a bolder blend of pink and blue. The design, however, has sparked some mixed reactions online. Fans have criticised the colour combination and the perceived similarity between this kit and the red second strip.

Despite exploring potential changes, the club has chosen to continue its partnership with sportswear brand Hummel, which also supplies kits for several other Spanish teams, including rivals UD Las Palmas.
