Emergency landing in Tenerife after passenger has epileptic seizure

A Ryanair plane had to make an emergency landing at Tenerife south airport, after the pilot requested assistance from air traffic controllers because a passenger on board had gone into a seizure after having an epileptic attack.

Flight FR1035 was on its way from Cologne (Germany) to Tenerife when the incident happened, so the pilot requested help due to a medical emergency.

Air traffic controllers have reported on Twitter that the plane was given priority to land, with all others wanting to land told to circle and wait, and the emergency services were ready and waiting for its arrival.

As soon as it had landed, medical personnel boarded the plane to treat the passenger and stabilised them so that they could be taken to hospital for further treatment, before the rest of the passengers were allowed to disembark with minimum disruption.

No further details have been released regarding the identity or state of health of the passenger.
